Concerts in December at the Music! Exhibition

On St. Lucia’s Day, Kansallis-Kuoro choir, led by Choirmaster Teppo Lampela, perform a selection of well-loved carols and songs from the Piae Cantiones collection.

The Satakieli international cultural association will be performing a matinee of wintry and Christmassy songs from around Europe, particularly Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These will be interspersed with a selection of music from Finland, Spain and the UK.

The Kassandra intercultural choir is known for its joyous performances involving dance and movement. At their December outing, they will perform songs from Sardinia, Turkey, Sweden and Estonia, with guest appearances by Espoo Music Institute Kameleontti choir’s Uni and Sekamelska ensembles.

Finnish-Peruvian duo Sininen Tuli whisks audiences off on a New Year’s visit to Latin America, including the Andes mountains and Venezuela. Full of colour and atmosphere, this concert also features a range of unusual instruments. Performing alongside Duo Sininen vocalist and violinist Sanna Mansikkaniemi and guitarist Camilo Pajuelo is guest star Eduardo Ramírez, a Venezuelan cuatro guitar master.
