Goodbye, Vyborg!
‘Goodbye, Vyborg!’ is a dramatic yet optimistic story about a lost city and the fates of its residents. The musical drama based on true events and persons tells the forgotten and touching tale through lyrics and melodies.
The play is written by author and art historian Anna Kortelainen and dramatised and directed by Reetta Ristimäki. The music is a compilation of the hits of the time and new songs composed by Seppo Äikäs. He takes the stage along with acting singers with a Karelian background: Niina Ahola, Ilkka Hämäläinen and Marika Hölttä.
At the start of the show, Anna Kortelainen introduces the audience to the Vyborg atmosphere and talks about Vyborg residents finding their new home in Helsinki.
