Helsinki Day: Smile, Helsinki! – Sound and Dance from a Photo

On Helsinki Day, visitors to Villa Hakasalmi will be charmed by moments of dance and unique encounters. Free entry!

Photographer Volker von Bonin’s nostalgic shots from Helsinki between the 1950s and 1980s have inspired a new kind of inter-artistic experience that brings dance, sound art and photography together. Dancer-choreographers Tiia Hämäläinen and Jaakko Simola and sound artist Marika Hyvärinen will put together a performance spreading across the atmospheric halls of Villa Hakasalmi. The audience can move about freely in the exhibition space, coming across unique moments and encounters.
