Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye
This collective of virtuosos shares a love for riveting klezmer music. They are the only group in Finland to perform traditional klezmer music and maintain a connection with traditional Jewish culture from Eastern Europe. Kapelye is the Yiddish word for ‘klezmer group’. HKK was founded in 2006, and its current members have been playing together for more than a decade. The group have performed in Helsinki at venues such as Juttutupa, G Livelab, the Espa Stage, Teatteri Avoimet Ovet and Musiikkiteatteri Kapsäkki. They have also performed at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, at Hauho Manor, in Tampere and in Hämeenlinna.
Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye features Antti Korhola (violin), Annika Lyytikäinen (clarinet), Tony Wallius (clarinet), Mayim Alpert (domra, trumpet, vocals), Eva Jacob (accordion, vocals), Philip Holm (bass) and Murat Ermutlu (percussion).
