Matinees at Villa Hakasalmi
The beautiful hall at Villa Hakasalmi has excellent acoustics, which is why we are having matinee concerts featuring all kinds of music there every Sunday at 2 pm. You can enjoy matinees for the museum entrance fee of 12/10 euros. Free entry to those under the age of 18 and museum card holders.
Sun 2 February at 14 At the borders of romance Programme €5/10
Trio Hehku is a piano trio from Helsinki and Tampere founded in 2018 featuring Hanna Jokinen, piano; Inka Liitiäinen, violin; and Mandi Lammi, cello. The matinee takes the listener on a journey to the different periods of romance from the early years to the last moments, from the late classical period to the threshold of impressionism. The composers include Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Debussy.
Sun 9 February at 14 Weber’s Clarinet Quintet
A group of musicians from the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra TASO ry performs chamber music at Villa Hakasalmi. The main piece of the concert is Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Quintet, Op. 34. The ensemble includes Henry Niemi, clarinet; Riitta Savilahti and Miikka Vilermo, violin; Soile Nymark, viola; and Jan Varpanen, cello.

What causes us to seek perfection? Would it not be more interesting to hear about human blunders and occurrences that did not go quite as planned? This relaxed, lively and surprising concert by Fanny Hellström and Vilma Keisala consists of the singers’ favourite songs from opera arias to show tunes. The pianist is Jussi Littunen.

Korvat Auki Ensemble is an ensemble of improvised and experimental music founded in 2013 by the composer-musician members of the Korvat auki (Ears open) society to fully realise their musicianship and transcend the conventional boundaries of musical exploration. The matinee features French guitarist Guillaume Gargaud as a guest musician.
