The distinctive and fresh piano and violin duo of Paula Präktig and Lotta-Maria Heiskanen compose beautifully melodic and at times even flamboyant music that forms a fascinating mix of cinematic styles, folk music and jazz influences. Their improvised solos encourage breaking boundaries, as their blend of piano and violin is also complemented with modern effects and shades. Swiss-born, self-taught pianist Yes It’s Ananias has created an idiosyncratic style in which improvisation yields fascinating, psychoautomatic musical tapestries.
