Songs of Independence

The decades of Finnish independence are remembered in the many popular songs that are sung in schools, pubs, churches, homes and concerts across the country. Based on musical recollections and memories contributed by the public in the autumn of 2016, we have created a sing-along event to mark the Finland 100 anniversary year and to chart the history of an independent Finland through song. The generations will come together in music, as we turn our sights towards the centenary year. The event is produced by Helsinki City Museum and Music Archive JAPA. Free admission.
