Spring fashion from the 19th century
Villa Hakasalmi’s spring season will be topped off by a historical fashion event in the spirit of the Glitter and Curtsy exhibition that will take visitors to the heyday of manors in the 19th century. At 13.00 and 14.30, the villa will house a magnificent fashion show featuring empire waists and crinolines, bustles and gigot sleeves, uniforms and bonjour suits. The gentry will be accompanied by commoners and there will be attires for many an occasion. The attires worn by the models are copies, but between the shows, you can examine genuine 19th-century clothes displayed in the exhibition with a discussion guide.
The fashion show is produced in cooperation with the fashion history society Muodin Historian Kiertokoulu and Helsinki Vocational College.
Included in the price of admission €16/11, no separate fee. Free entry with Museum Card.
