Candlelight concert All You Who Sleep Tonight

Thousands of stories resonate in the air as dusk falls, and the pulse of the city quickens. The candlelight concert All You Who Sleep Tonight gathers its listeners in Villa Hakasalmi’s hall to experience the fleeting moments of the urban night.
The rush of city life meets intimate musical snapshots: songs that dream in cafés, fall in love in libraries, part ways in the cold of winter, and linger lazily through Parisian nights in the City of Light.
Villa Hakasalmi hosts Helsinki by Night, a photography exhibition by Stefan Bremer – his personal vision of nocturnal Helsinki. Wandering through the city with his camera, Bremer captured both the vibrant nightlife and the misty urban landscapes. The songs of the concert naturally converse with Bremer’s images.
The concert is part of the Finnish Lied Academy’s Laulun Valo festival.
Composers featured include Poulenc, Fauré, Rorem, Kuula, Dove, and Sundblad-Halme. Performers: mezzosopranos Ruut Eleonoora Karhula and Kirsi Leutonen, pianists Jyri Mishukov and Edit Rautio.
Tickets €16/€11. Free admission for under 18 years old and Museum Card holders. Tickets available one hour before the concert at the door.
