La voix humaine
Tapahtuma
-

In the 45-minute monodrama composed by Francis Poulenc, the audience witnesses and hears Ellen’s final phone call to her lover. Ellen is obsessively in love with a man she cannot trust. At the beginning of the call, she tells him that she spent the previous evening out with friends, but as the conversation unfolds, she ultimately reveals that she attempted to take her own life the night before. Ellen ends the call with a declaration of love and hangs up for the last time.
The work is performed by soprano Linnéa Sundfær Casserly and accordionist Sini Ström. The matinée is the final concert of the AVAUS Festival, which celebrates vocal music and untold stories in various locations across Helsinki.
