The Riot Grrrl phenomenon in Finland

The Riot Grrrl movement originated in the United States in the early 1990s and reached Finland about ten years later. How did this phenomenon manifest itself in Finland at the turn of the millennium, and what were the consequences? Aksa Pajala, Eeva Partanen and Havu Kauppinen will feature as panellists, moderated by Siri Törölä from the Punk Museum. The discussion will be held in Finnish.

Following the discussion at 17.00, Kino Regina will screen ‘The Punk Singer’, a documentary film about Kathleen Hanna directed by Sini Anderson.
