March events and a Museum Card benefit
In March, Villa Hakasalmi presents the German history of Helsinki. You can get to know 19th century German-speaking Helsinki residents in the compact Immigrants in Helsinki touring exhibition, which will visit the villa from 19 to 28 March. The exhibition has been produced by the Aue Foundation, the City of Helsinki and the association for Finnish-German associations Suomi-Saksa Yhdistysten Liitto.
The German-language event Ein Herz für Helsinki, organised in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Finnland on Wednesday, 20 March, is an excellent opportunity to refresh your German language skills, hear the recollections of German-speaking Helsinki residents and converse in German. For catering, participants are asked to register by 15 March by email: info-helsinki@goethe.de
A Finnish-language lecture on the German history of Helsinki in the 20th Century will be held on Saturday 23 March at 13.00–16.30, where experts will shed light on the phases of the German community in Helsinki. The event is organised in cooperation with the Aue Foundation and Helsinki Summer University.
