How do you remember the 1980s? Join us in helping shape Villa Hakasalmi’s upcoming exhibition.
In autumn 2027, Villa Hakasalmi will open an exhibition offering a multifaceted look at Helsinki in the 1980s. The exhibition will explore how the recent past gradually becomes nostalgia. Which aspects of a decade come to define it over time, and which are forgotten? Whose memories of the 1980s are preserved, and whose are left out? And how is the decade perceived by those who were not even born yet?

Memories and reflections of 1980s Helsinki will be collected at the Kasarirastit event on Friday, 28 August from 2 pm to 5 pm at Villa Hakasalmi. The event takes place on the final free admission day of Stefan Bremer’s hugely popular Helsinki by Night exhibition.
