Experience something completely new this spring – at Villa Hakasalmi, you can solve a murder mystery game from 25–27 February as part of WSOY’s international Helsinki Noir festival. Tickets are on sale now!
The popular exhibition Helsinki by Night is about to host a publication event for the latest crime novel by a renowned author. The event soon takes a shocking turn, and the invited guests arrive at a murder scene, instead. But who is the murderer? Can you find all the clues and identify the culprit?
The murder mystery is solved in teams of 4–6 people. The package price for one team is €110. Game times are Wednesday to Friday, 25–27 February, after the exhibition closes from 17.15 to 20.00. The events are held in Finnish.

Stefan Bremer’s photography exhibition Helsinki by Night has attracted a record audience to Villa Hakasalmi – it has already been seen by nearly 40,000 visitors. Thank you to everyone. If you prefer a quieter visit, we recommend coming midweek. There’s still time to visit, as the exhibition continues until 30 August, 2026.
Slang tours, meet & greet, and espresso to brighten your winter
The Helsinki by Night exhibition opens in a new way when you can explore it with a slang-guided tour. Join Esko Vepsä on 14 February, 14 March or 9 May from 14:00–15:00. Tours are in Finnish and included in the ticket price.
On Saturday, 7 March from 14:00–15:00, author Kjell Westö reminisces with Stefan Bremer about Helsinki in the 1970s–1980s, which both have depicted in their works. The discussion is in Swedish and included in the ticket price.
From our museum shop, you’ll find the Helsinki by Night photo book, posters, T-shirts, postcards, and Kaffe Obscura’s dark night espresso. Located on the courtyard of the villa, Rakastan Kahvila offers lunch buffet including soup, roasted potatoes with changing fillings, salad, and fresh bread.
